About
I was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, before moving to Fredericton, New Brunswick in my early years. It was there, at 15 years old, that I first stepped into the kitchen as a dishwasher. Before long, I moved onto the line, working evenings after school and long weekend brunch shifts in busy kitchens. It was there that I really fell in love with cooking — the pace, the energy, and the creativity of the kitchen environment.
After several years cooking in Fredericton, I moved to Ottawa to broaden my experience and deepen my understanding of food and hospitality. Over nearly a decade working within Ottawa’s restaurant scene, I held leadership roles including Chef de Cuisine at Datsun and Sous Chef at El Camino. Those years helped shape not only my approach to cooking, but also my understanding of hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable dining experiences.
Eventually, the East Coast called me home.
I relocated to Halifax nearly 10 years ago and quickly fell in love with life by the ocean — the seafood, the seasons, the beaches, and the strong sense of community. I’ve since planted roots in Dartmouth, where my wife and I are raising our two boys.
Before starting my personal chef business, I spent over 20 years working in restaurants, most recently serving as Head Chef at The Highwayman for six years, following my time as Sous Chef at Bar Kismet.
In 2024, I began this next chapter as a personal chef, bringing restaurant-level cooking into people’s homes in a more personal and meaningful way. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to cook in incredible homes, meet amazing people, and create experiences that go far beyond simply serving food. Some clients have even become close friends along the way.
My approach is rooted in thoughtful hospitality, seasonal ingredients, and creating food that feels both elevated and approachable — whether that’s an intimate private dinner, a family-style gathering, or helping make everyday life easier through weekly meal prep.
I’m incredibly grateful for the trust my clients place in me and excited for what’s ahead.
